Spring peepers calling

It's not feeling much like spring out there right now (it's sleeting) so I have to get my froggy fix by listening to this:

From Duluth's own Frog Blog by Jennifer Olker who is an aquatic ecologist at the Natural Resources Research Institute, University of Minnesota Duluth.

I just have to open my windows in the evening although it's still a bit cool for that. And today it's pouring with rain so the juncos are having to dive through wet grass to get in and out of their nest.

If you ever get a chance, I'd like to see a picture of that junco nest.

In a hole in the ground there lived a junco...

There's nothing to see. A hole with a green entrance and long dried grass hanging down in front of it. If you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't see it. I can take a photo but it won't look like anything.

I was sort of picturing it with a tiny round green door.

Surrounded by green but no door as far as I can tell.
